... I have decided to make a new blog. The main purpose of this blog will be to track my time at Wears Valley Ranch.
If I have learned anything from being Don Shepson's student I would be making goals and other things, but I have not decided to do that... I mean, I might because it will be something to do, but we will see how moving and all goes...
Currently the moving process is more of a what junk do I keep and what junk do I take. In fake the worst part is knowing what to do with the things I do not take. It is a lot of wondering if I will still want some of this stuff at the end of the year that I'm at the ranch. And if I don't want it what should I do with it. I have noticed how much stuff is just things that I wanted for the room that I was in at the time I bought it. At the time it had a purpose... but now I'm not so sure what to do with it. From my bed I can see the rope lights that I bought to go underneath of my bed in Anderson (one of the Montreat dorms). They were totally worth it at the time, but now being back at home I know that I do not need them... There is nothing wrong with them, in fact they have been sitting on my mantel in the apt for the past year, so they have been used, but they are still pretty useless right now on top of a box, in the corner of my room.
It is a struggle to know what to do with a lot more than just "decorative" items though - Another thing I can see from my bed is the box of college books that I have. They are the books that I had to buy for my major classes - the ones that you struggle to throw away because you might need them one day. Since I am only sitting in my room right now and about to move into a room that is probably smaller than this one I know that it is something that is not coming with me right now.
The way that I am thinking about it now is packing those things in plastic containers until I know what I am going to do next year and then I can move them onto a book shelf in an apartment... hopefully (we will see where God takes me first). I figure the more stuff that I put into containers now, the less stuff I have to shift through later... Is that the right plan?
Ok, enough about packing and moving. I think however, it may be time to get back to those things! I will continue to update this blog and I do hope that you leave comments - ask me questions leave some love... anything! I will update about the ranch and the story behind me finding out about the place (although I'm sure most of you have already heard it) at some point before I leave. And then you can continue to check here for updates and pictures. Facebook is always a good option too though!
